Port Lincoln Write Up October 2020
Highlights as per the travellers
RUDY & KAY
What can we say - the highlights of the trip - too many to mention.
Most of all, good friends, the journey, the Vettes. We loved every moment as always, it's over all too soon.
Thank you for making these adventures so special, we really appreciate all you do.
In Whyalla loved Elvis, he was so enthusiastic and literally lived Elvis.
Port Lincoln, that 'man cave' was the ultimate.
A big thank you Kathy & Gus for our Whyalla getaway.

GARY
Too Hot, Too Wet, Too Much Food, Too many leaks in cars, 1900 + kilometres.
Seriously we all had a great time with a great group of people and saw some amazing things along the way
Thanks Everyone
CATHY
Our best part of the trip was the company and getting to know everyone a bit more as we had already seen most of the places as we went there last year. Loved Turners Oysters, the man cave Pt Lincoln & the best food was the Marina

Thanks very much for organizing the trip for us. It was my first time on such a long trip with the Corvette Club, but it Certainly won't be my last (that;s if you'll have me back). As someone else said, the weather wasn't the greatest, and it certainly helped us find a few leaks in our cars, but that's part of the fun of owning such unique old cars. The activities you had organised were all great. I personally enjoyed the collection of cars in Phil's place (seeing as I also enjoy collecting model Corvettes and Dick Johnson cars. Also the trip out on the boat to see the Seals. I didn't swim with them because I know from experience how hard it is to get into and out of a wet-suit. I'm really looking forward to the next trip.

SCOTT & KERRY
As this was our first club event, perhaps the biggest reward for us was the thrill of travelling in a 'Vette pack along with wonderful company! We thoroughly enjoyed the journey, the sites, the socialising, the banter and the laughs - all promises made regarding this great club were well and truly delivered!
It is clear how much investigation and organisation went into arranging this awesome road trip, which despite the weather, occurred like a well-oiled itinerary and was well communicated along the way.
Other highlights for us was the interesting and inspiring characters we had the pleasure of meeting along the way, a standout being Phil from Whyalla with the overwhelming collection of model cars and memorabilia, not to mention the 'ex Russell Ingall' Camaro centrepiece!
On a final note and in keeping with the opening couple of lines - the support and assistance shown by club members following a mechanical interruption with our vehicle was heartfelt - again a great reflection of the spirit of this club and its members. A special thanks also to Steve and Jenny from Port Lincoln for networking the local resources and transport hospitality to Cummins. We eagerly await the next epic adventure…

What can we say - it was another McBride trip and for those that have been on one, you will know just how great they are!!
Was wonderful to go to a place where we have been talking about going to for some time and we were very lucky to see some places that only the locals could get us into!
Lovely to spend time with the gang and as per usual, we ate too much and drank too much… well, some of us did… (and no I am not referring to Jim!)
Thanks Pete and Lyn for another fantastic trip!

As you can see, Corvette owners love having a good time.Following on from the LWE in Whyalla, 17 of us chose to travel on to Port Lincoln. After driving along the coast via Tumby Bay & stopping at the Excell Steam Museum we arrived at Hilton Motel, right on the foreshore. We enjoyed a relaxing meal at The Marina where we sat on the Boardwalk with a view of the Port.
Tuesday we visited Axel Stenross Maritime Museum. Our tour guide eagerly accepted the offer of a ride in a Corvette. Later we toured the local sights & the local Beer Garden Brewing. Mel & Ian took a tour to watch & swim with Sea Lions. Tuesday evening was at Tasman Hotel where we were joined by local Port Lincoln Corvette owners.
Wednesday was a very wet day with a drive along the coast to Cummins Hotel for lunch. Take Away Pizzas & a multiple choice quiz kept us busy for the evening.
Thursday was organised by Steve & Jenny Kranz who are local Corvette owners. We had a picnic lunch at Brinkworth Reserve & then were treated to a very special collection of historic planes, motor vehicles & other memorabilia. It was a man cave extraordinaire!
Friday Some returned to Adelaide today, but most of us took a more leisurely return trip via Kimba, where we had lunch & checked out the sculptures. Overnight stop at Port Augusta then we continued home via Burra for lunch.
We wish to thank everyone for coming along & creating such a wonderful experience & lots of laughs!
