The Australia day holiday saw 12 vettes and one new Mazda gather at K-mart Karulta Park and head off through the city and up through chain of ponds to our morning coffee stop at Birdwood which was more than the actual ½ way point. We had been joined by new club member Ray Preston. At Tea Tree Gully making the unlucky number of 13.From Birdwood we headed into the Barossa Valley via Forreston this section of the journey was a trial for the fast approaching National Convention. We travelled the route from Birdwood to Lyndoch utilising the run to gather feedback and timing data for the real event. Lyndoch was our destination for the day, dining at the Lord Lyndoch Restaurant where I have to say the meals were fantastic and the staff very amicable and pleasant. We were joined for lunch by our president who couldn’t be bothered doing the run and just strolled down the hill from the ranch. Goof couldn’t be bothered doing even that so a few of us took the run to him. All in all a great day was had by all celebrating our national day in American classics. |
